Portrayals[]

Mrs. Moto is almost always portrayed as a very protective mother of Yugi's, who sometimes worries about her son due to his habit of talking to himself. In some stories, she's also the mother of Atem.

Mrs

Mrs. Moto watches the commercial.

Yugi and Atem's widowed mother. She is very protective of Yugi and very aggravated with Atem's late night sleeping habits. She was devastated when her husband, Aknam was killed. When Yugi and Atem returned from Egypt, Ashita grew afraid that the two were drifting apart from her, and a TV commercial convinced her to buy a book that made her think she was at fault and do several odd things like make a billboard for the family leaving the house and a "PJs at meals" rule. Atem convinced her that their family was already fine before she did all this, so Mrs. Moto agreed to go back to her old parenting style, and Atem and Yugi promised to spend an hour a day with her.

Mrs

Mrs. Moto just before Solomon dies.

Solomon's wife. During a drive home from church, Ashita and Solomon discovered Atem's ship. Ashita was eager to adopt the little three-year-old boy they found in there as she couldn't have children herself, and he was all alone. Solomon didn't agree until the care nearly fell on top of them before Atem caught it and lifted it up. He then agreed if only to keep the boy safe. They then adopted him and named him Yugi after Ashita's maiden name. When her husband died, Ashita was saddened but managed to remain strong enough to comfort Yugi, who took it badly since he believed he could have saved him. She then encouraged him to go north after Yugi found a crystal in his old ship. She was then helped around the farm by a family friend named Ben Hubbard as Yugi completed high school and college on top of training in the North Pole with his biological father. When Yugi got a job at the Daily Planet, he arranged for half of his paycheck to be sent to his mother, who by now had silver hair.
